What’s your philosophy?

You meet so many people who have a philosophy about life.  They may not say it and certainly not in the first meeting, but you can see it in how they are, what comes across about them, the things they say and what they are interested in.  You may not agree with their philosophy but you have to acknowledge it’s all individual and unique.  Like many things about people, it’s the understanding of each other – what makes us different and what makes us the same that is fascinating.

Without relationships and difference in people the world would be a boring place.  I know many people believe animals to be a safer bet when it comes to relationships, and their feeling may be that an animal is more loyal, trustworthy and a better companion than a lot of people – that may be true.  BUT I do hope today that when you meet people for the first time, or maybe a life long friend – you will see the beauty in them – the moments of loyalty, trustworthiness and companionship, and that the diversity you see will only enhance the wonder of what makes us human.
So what is your philosophy?  Well as much of my musing comes from the media – this subject is no exception and I’ve just started watching a great detective programme – Criminal Minds.  In one of these episodes I came across one of my philosophies in life, when thinking about how my life may be sometimes and the things that happen:

“this isn’t what I want but I will take the high road.  Maybe it’s because I look at everything as a lesson or because I don’t want to walk around angry.  Or maybe it’s because I finally understand there are things we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people we can’t live without but have to let go!”

I don’t want to regret anything in my life and certainly don’t want to walk round with anger and disappointment.  If my life on earth stopped tonight there would still be things I’d have liked to have done, but I know I’ve always been open to learn and experience everything that’s come my way and I’m happy with my life.
Someone else I’ve come across recently – a guy called Brendon Burchard (take a look at his stuff it’s amazing) says there are three questions we ask at the end of our life:
1)    Did I live?
2)    Did I love?
3)    Did I matter?
Today think about your philosophy on life – does it compel you to greatness or is it dragging you down?  You can change it?  Each day you can say I will live today, I will love today and I will do something that makes a difference to someone else.
I found this small piece that someone put together on Philosophies to end on…click the picture below to watch.
